Development and application of novel experimental techniques for electron microscopy:
i) Structure determination of new material using Electron Crystallographic mMethods; ii) Development of TEM and SEM characterization methods; iii) Microstructural and micro-analytical characterization of nano-structured materials. IV) Electron holography of electrostatic ad magnetic fields.
Structural characterization of multiferroic materials, inorganic semiconductors and nanostructured compounds. Development of new detectors for transmitted electron in a scanning electron microscope.
Andrea Migliori is researcher at CNR-IMM, Sezione di Bologna ( formerly Istituto LAMEL). He took up his scientific career at Istituto LAMEL in 1987, after he has obtained the degree (laurea) in Physics cum laude.
An important part of his research activity has been involved in microstructural and micro-analytical characterization of High Tc superconductor , semiconductors and related materials by means of Transmission Electron microscopy techniques .
He is author of more than 130 publications on international magazines and proceedings of international conferences. He is organizer and director of national school on electron microscopy in materials science held in Bologna in 2005, 2008, 2010 and 2014 .
The main current research topics deal with:
i) structure determination of new material using electron crystallographic methods;
ii) development of TEM and SEM characterization methods and techniques;
iii) microstructural and microanalytical characterization of nano-structured materials.
iv) electron holography, applied to the study of electromagnetic fields on the micrometer scale
v) studies on multiferroic materials.
