Morphological and electrical characterization of low-dimensional hybrid perovskites for energy applications. His technical skills range from thin film fabrication techniques (CVD, PECVD, PA-MBE, magnetron sputtering, RF furnace) to the morphological (AFM, SEM, XRD), optical (PL, Raman, Ellipsometry) and electrical (Hall, low-noise) characterization of thin films and nanostructures.
Gabriele Calabrese is a research fellow at IMM-CNR. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from University of Ferrara in 2015. For his Ph.D. thesis he received the Nicolaus Copernicus reward from the Chamber of Commerce of Ferrara, and was first classified at the “University and Sustainability” prize for best PhD thesis in the energy sector in 2015 from Ferrara University. From 2015 to 2018 he was a postdoctoral researcher at Paul Drude Institut for Solid State Electronics (Berlin, Germany) working on the synthesis by MBE and the morphological, optical and electrical characterization of III-nitride nanowires on metallic substrates and graphene. Afterwards, he moved to the Information and Electrical Engineering department of Pisa University, working on the inkjet-printing and the morphological and electrical characterization of 2D material-based microelectronic devices. In 2020 he got a research fellowship at IMM-CNR where he works on low-dimensional hybrid perovskites for thermoelectric applications. His current research interests include solution processable inorganic and hybrid materials for electronic devices, including field-effect transistors and thermoelectrics. He is first/corresponding author of 12 manuscripts in high impact international journals.
